1986:
CMG looks abroad for international exchanges of color information with other like-minded organizations, taking its first step with The Colour Group of the United Kingdom. In 1989, Dale Russell, Executive Director of The Colour Group U.K., is hosted as an honored guest at CMG’s meeting in Scottsdale, AZ. This connection helps to forge a link with the European market. Also in 1989, designer, author and artist Sydney Sykes of the UK is elected CMG’s Vice President, becoming the first member from outside North America to serve on the Executive Committee.
CMG continues to maintain a global focus on all things color, with a membership that spans the world on multiple continents. Regional conferences and ChromaZones® occur every year in the Asia Pacific, European, Latin American and North American regions to ultimately produce the World Color Forecast™.
