1990:
After decades focusing on the forecast of colors two years out, Colors Current® Workshops are implemented for both Consumer and Contract markets to discuss near-term and best-selling colors. These workshops were tailored to the members responsible for the application, rather than the creation of color for their products. Participants in the workshops analyzed color trends at 18 months out or sooner, and discussed best-selling colors within specific market segments. Colors that were considered “Established” were stable to an industry and in the product line for at least a year. “New Introduction” colors were committed to the product line, but not yet in the market.
These workshops continued for two decades, and, in 2008, were renamed as Colors Now™. Eventually, shortened time-to-market across all industries led to a decreased CMG member interest in near-term colors, and the workshops were phased out. At CMG, we are always in a state of evolution—listening to feedback and constantly evaluating the experiences and products we provide for our membership. If you have any suggestions or ideas, please reach out to us! We’d love to hear from you!
