1990’s:

1998: Color Marketing Group unveils its new logo and vision statement, which is intended to better reflect the wide range of CMG members as well as the breadth of the color spectrum. The President at that time, Melanie Wood, CMG, noted, “CMG has modified its logo to represent a vision of forward movement, and innovative thought in color and design.” The new vision statement, “The Premier International Association for Color and Design Professionals” reflected CMG’s elite membership of color and design experts from around the world. John Currie of Currieworks, Inc., the logo’s Designer, updated the existing logo by unifying it with the CMG acronym and adding the squares as a suggestion of the world of color that CMG represents.

We would continue to use this logo for nearly two decades, making it the visual icon used for the longest period across our sixty years. The vision statement would later be amended to the more straightforward, “The Premier International Association for Color Design Professionals®.”
